I’m New Here
First Time Guest
We understand that coming along to a new place for the first time can be a daunting prospect. At Southend Vineyard we do everything that we can to make your experience with us as enjoyable as possible. On this page we hope that you find relevant information that will help you as you begin your journey at Southend Vineyard.
We meet at Prince Avenue Primary School. Tea and coffee is available before the service from 10:45 and after the service along with doughnuts to tide you through to lunch!
What time does it start?
Our Sunday Service begins at 11:00am.
Where is the church?
We are located at Prince Avenue Academy and Nursery, Hornby Avenue, Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, SS0 0LG
What should I wear?
Most people who attend are usually dressed in a casual manner. However, if you would like to wear your new suit or dress you are totally welcome!
Where can I park?
There is plenty of free parking on site.
What about my kids?
As you arrive you will be met by the members of our welcome team, if you have children aged 0-4 they will direct you to our Treasures group, where you can sign them into the care of our fully DBS cleared team for fun, games, stories and craft. If you have children aged 5-10 they will stay with you for the first couple of songs, then you will be directed by either a message on the screen or a person at the front to sign your kids into NRGize in the canteen, where they will have a fun filled morning of good biblical teaching, craft, games and prayer! If your children are aged 11-18 they will leave the service at the end of worship and meet in the youth area. All of our teams are fully cleared by DBS and attend regular child protection training. We provide drinks and snacks to all children in our groups, so if your children have any allergies please let our team know. Your children are welcome to stay with you in the service if you prefer. 🙂
What can I expect?
Our morning services start with a time of celebration and passionate sung worship. This normally lasts 20-25 minutes and will be directed from the front. All the words are on the screens so, if want to, you can sing along. We encourage you to relax and engage at your own pace, even if that means not singing at all.
After worship we communicate some of our core events for the coming weeks. We also express our thanks to God through our offering at this point in the service. Naturally, you don’t have to give. If you are a first time guest, we encourage you to simply let the basket pass you by.
Normally after worship we have a relevant and meaningful talk. Our talks are challenging, biblical, inspiring and applicable to all of our lives. We design them to last around 25/30 minutes so you can rest assured that you won’t still be sitting in the service on Monday morning.
At the end of the talk we reflect on what we have heard and respond. We always provide an opportunity to ask for and receive prayer for any situation.
That’s it. We then serve Tea, coffee and doughnuts after the service and you can stay and chat or slip off home.
Do you have any events for newcomers?
We regularly have a welcome lunch for those who are new. This is an opportunity to have a great lunch and ask questions about the church (or just listen as we talk!)
If you have any questions on the morning just ask anyone wearing a lanyard or looking busy! We look forward to meeting you!
